FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How exactly will this work? One big ceremony or back-to-back ceremonies?
The plan is to have one big ceremony. If we have more respond than we can accomadate at once, then we may have more than one ceremony.

Should people wear wedding dresses and tuxedoes, or is it up to them?
Attire is entirely up to the bride and groom.

What time of day on Feb. 14 will the event be held?
The ceremony will begin at 10 am

Where will it be? If it’s your church, could I have the address?
We expect to have it at our church facility at 207 Security Court, Wylie Texas 75098. If we have an overwhelming response, we may move to a larger facility.

Is there a charge to participate?
There is no charge but there will be one meeting with the pastor Saturday the 13th that will be required to participate.

If someone wants to take part, how should they sign up?
You can contact us at 972-578-9999 or email me at: randy.hill@summitchurchwylie.org.
We also have a sign up on the website at: www.summitchurchwylie.org/churchwedding.html

Is there a limit to the number of couples that may be married on that day?
There is no limit. We will make arrangements for a larger venue if necessary.

Will there be any sort of a reception afterward?
We are planning a small reception afterwards for all attending.

What's the point of this? Why is Summit Church hosting this event?
God places more value on the family than he does the church, and the foundation of the family is Covenant Marriage. One thing required of Covenant Marriage is a marriage covenant. That may seem funny but in our society we have lost the concept of covenant. Part of covenant is making a life commitment to anotherpublically before man and before God.
I will begin a series of talks on “Covenant:The Foundation Of Real Life” Jan 10th culminating on Feb 14th with “How To Beat The Odds: Reinventing A Divorceless Society” which will be the message and the goal of this ceremony. I do not believe anyone enters marriage thinking it will probably end in divorce and yet many do. There are many more who decide to live together without a covenant which almost insures they will see that relationship end. Jesus said “you will know the truth and the truth will set you free”.  We believe knowing the truth about covenant marriage will lead husbands and wives into real freedom and a fulfilling life together through covenant partnership with God and one another.
