Update from the Taylors

In July I asked for your prayers for a short-term mission team that came from Arkansas. I write to thank you for your prayers now that they have completed their ministry here. In spite of some obstacles that came, their visits to schools, evangelistic campaigns, leadership training and ministry to the sick were very succesful. Many people came to know our Lord and several others’ hearts were opened. Many sick people were healed (a future newsletter will give exciting details!). The team served the Lord and the Jacalteco people whole-heartedly and I am very thankful for all they did to minister with excellence here.
Now I would like to ask for two new prayer requests. We are praying for the healing of a three month old baby named Sandra Gabriela who is in the hospital here in Jacaltenango. She has been diagnosed with pneumonia among other health problems and has had trouble swallowing. Also, local Christians from two of the churches that were trained by the mission team from Arkansas will begin their churches’ healing ministry tomorrow (Thursday) by going out to pray for the sick in their communities. Please pray that this will be a tremendous beginning to a powerful ministry!
Very Thankful for your Prayers,
Tony Taylor

July Update from Guatemala

Thanks so much once again for your prayers.
The team that came from Michigan for a few days did some neat work here.  They held two youth rallies where they were a blessing to many teenagers and even to some adults that were there.  Several asked for prayer.  They also replaced a leaky roof on a poor family’s home and visited several poor families with gift baskets and prayer.
Now I want to ask once again for your prayers as time draws near for the Grace Fellowship teamto minister here in Jacaltenango.  They will be in several churches and hold three community-wide campaigns.  They will visit the sick in their houses and visit two junior highs and one elementary school.  There will also be an opportunity to finish building the home of a poor family and two days of leadership training.  I don’t know how to tell you how much we want your prayers.  Our hearts insist that lives be changed, people healed and the lost saved. We enjoyed great weather when the Michigan team was here and it we ask the Lord for that same blessing again.

Thanks for joining in prayer with us!!

Taiwan Followup Report

God showed up and showed off in Taiwan as we trained inner healing teams for two churches as well as releasing the prophetic gifting into the body there. As SOZO was being ministered to the leaders of the church they were getting free from lies they had believed from childhood. Several of the ladies were sexually molested as children by relatives or friends. What a joy to see them healed from the devastation of such an invasion of the enemy.

One lady said…

Through the ministry I was directed to meet God in deeper ways through Sozo, my life has gained freedom both in relationship to God, to man and to myself. I feel so much lighter.

Another reported…

?I received a prophetic word about carrying loads that I was not meant to carry. This together with my Sozo training has released me from a lot of unhealthy manipulation in relationships.

Yet another is telling everyone in sight how God has turned her life upside down through her Sozo encounter, and is continuing to testify of the release she feels deep in her heart and in every aspect of life.

SOZO whacked them with encounter.

Then the Co-Pastor said of her Husband…

He was watching you and the others step out in prophecy in the meetings, so Sunday morning he also began by prophesying over people. Words of knowledge, prophecy, etc. is happening in every meeting we have had since. ? Hallelujah! We all feel upgraded in the use of spiritual gifts! It is exciting!

God be glorified!

With signs and wonders following…

Our first miracle report from Pastor Randy on his trip to Taiwan…

Headed to Taiwan on a mission trip we drove from Dallas to Houston to catch our first flight the next morning. After the Mavericks won their first NBA title I went to sleep so I could get up at 3:45am to catch the hotel shuttle at 4:30am. So this morning at 4:20am I arrived in the lobby to find Ramona, the desk clerk, sitting in the lobby. I began a conversation in which she informed me almost immediately that her foot was in pain. She informed me that she gets bone spurs but it had been a long time since she had had one. A strange thing to come up in a conversation except when you are on mission, LOL!

So, I told her that I was a Christian and sometimes when I pray for people they get healed. When asked if I could pray for her she said yes. I also asked her what the pain level was and she said it was ten.

I simply blessed her, thanking God for her and rel eased the Kingdom into her foot. Holy Spirit showed up and heat began to build in her foot. I asked if she felt the heat and she said she had felt it as soon as I touched her foot.

I then asked her to check it out and she got up and started walking and saying, “oh my gosh, oh my gosh,” which being interpreted means, “I am healed.” Bone spur and pain GONE!!!

It has already started. Keep praying. Taiwan is going to get rocked for the Kingdom and it’s King, Jesus.

April Update from Iquitos, Peru

Greetings from the Jungle!

We are delighted to report to you this month, that God has opened a new door of opportunity for us!  We are helping a local pastor to record messages, put them on dvds, and send them out to a chain of home groups.  The first week 8 people gave their hearts to the Lord!  God has supplied us with the equipment, home video camera, computer, etc. to make this vision possible.  The home groups are right here in Iquitos!  We pray for God’s blessing on this new work, and on the new believers who have come to Him!

Pastor Salomon’s church is continuing to grow.  We’re having weekly classes there for the ladies, as well as teaching in the church from time to time.  God is blessing and the church is growing!  We are continuing to pray with the church there for a building.  They are putting their faith into action, they have been having fund raising event for the building fund.  We’re praying for God to supply this need!  We know He can, He is faithful!

It’s that time of year again when the river is rising.  Quite rapidly this year, in the past 2 weeks it has risen at least 3 feet.  Pastor Salomon’s house only has about a foot to go before the water will be in his home.  He has raised the roof on his house, and is saving money to be able to raise the floor as well.  We would love to be able to help him with this.  With the river rising, mosquitos are also in the increase again, so please keep your prayers going up for no increase in Dengue Fever cases.

Pastor Silver’s house is above water level, but his house is badly in need of a new roof.  His family may as well be sleeping under the stars when it rains, they have almost no protection. He has purchased plastic to put over the roof, to help direct the flow of water.

The government has started a new program here, they are giving classes to Pastors.  After the completion of this class, Pastor receive a certificate.  With this certificate, they can teach Bible in the public schools and universities.  Our own Pastor Silver is going to this class!  The class is designed to verify that these pastors do indeed know the Bible, and won’t be teaching anything way out there, only what the Bible says.  We are excited to see one of our pastors be able to reach the children and youth in the public schools!

Elections for President of Peru were held here on Sunday, and there is going to be a second vote this year.  No one won with enough votes to be declared the winner.  The second vote will be between the top 3 winners of the last election.  One man running is good friends with President  Chavez of Venzuela, and shares many of his beliefs.  (Not good!)   Popular opinion among the missionaries is that if this man is elected, life will become very difficult if not impossible for missionaries here!  Another is a lady, the daughter of former President Fujimori.  The former president is now serving time in prison for his actions while in office.  Seems his personal bank account grew to unimaginable proportions while he was in office!  The 3rd candidate is a man who was born in Peru but has spent most of his life in the United States.  He is a very successful business man, and his major campaign is to eliminate corruption in the government.  Most believers think he would be very good for Peru.  The second election will be held on June 5th.  We are praying for God’s will to be done, and His choice to win!  We would appreciate your prayers as well!

Want to update you on Pastor Javier’s family.  Since his son went home to be with the Lord on March 21st, God has been answering our prayers on behalf of his son Eli.  Eli was checked out thoroughly by the doctors in Lima, and he has received a clean bill of health.  No problems of any sort that they could find.  The doctors here also suspect that his wife and two sons all died of heart problems, a heritedary problem, that they didn’t know about.  If this assumption is true, his only remaining child by his first wife is his daughter Priscilla.  Priscilla has been having chest pains.  They are going to get her to a doctor and have her checked.  That would explain why Eli’s heart had no problems, he is the first child of Javier’s second marriage.  We ask that you please continue your prayers for this family, specifically Priscilla.  Thank you so much for your prayers, God is listening!

We’re preparing out trip to visit the States this summer, and the first thing on our agenda is a car.  We need one!  Many of you will remember our car was totaled at the last of our trip last year, when we were in the middle of a 4 car pile up on the turnpike.
We’re praying for a good reliable vehicle, please pray with us, we know God has just the right one.

We so appreciate your prayers and support.  We ask that you please pray over this letter, and should the Lord lead you to help financially with any part (or all), please mark your check for that specific purpose, and we’ll see that all of your donation goes to the appropriate spot.  Together we can see that the needs of God’s people here are met.  It is by showing them the love of Jesus that we reach many.

Thank you to each of you who have stood with us through your finances and prayers!  We so appreciate your help, we know we couldn’t do this alone.  We are honored to partner with you.  If you haven’t had a chance to support this work through your finance and prayers, we would like to invite you to do so.  We welcome your help!  You may send your tax deductible donations to:

Update from Peru

This is the latest information we have on the Dengue Fever Epidemic here in Iquitos.

Over 7,500 people, the majority of them children, were treated for symptoms of dengue fever in the City’s hospitals during the period from 26th December to the middle of February. An epidemic was declared and the Region of Loreto in which Iquitos City resides, was placed on a medical red alert.
The dengue fly lays its’ eggs on dirty and stagnant water, so the open sewers in side-streets and water-barrels in people’s homes and back yards are ideal breeding-grounds for thousands of dengue-mosquitoes. The tropical conditions, heat, rain and 95% humidity, provide a perfect incubation environment for the development of malaria, dengue and other tropical illnesses.
Up to a few days ago the 3 main hospitals really couldn’t cope.  They hadn’t got enough beds, or drips, or staff. Makeshift wards had to be constructed from sheets of plywood nailed together. There were pools of blood on the floors in corridors, dirty sheets, the hospitals themselves became sources of disease and infection.
In total there were around 65 deaths from the illness, although the Health Ministry and the Regional Government only attributed 13 deaths to the illness.  They do not want to alarm the local population and don’t want to see tourism to the area affected. The Regional President persuaded the national government not to declare the region in a State of Emergency as it would have automatically brought charges of insolvency, incapacity to govern, corruption, and calls for him to step down.
We are told to date, that the situation is now beginning to improve. One report said an average of 60 people a day were now reporting to the hospitals with dengue.  The city is pleased with these figures, saying that is much closer to the norm.  We are praying and believing God for the daily reports of dengue fever to go to zero.
We sincerely thank each of you who have supported us here with your prayers and giving.  We find it absolutely amazing (in other words GOD DID IT) that so few people have died, considering how many have been sick.  Thank you for your part in helping with this crisis.

Dengue Fever – Update from Jerry and Connie Adams

We’ve been back in Iquitos almost a week now, and the situation is very serious.  So many people are sick, and so many have died.  The hospitals are full, and the morgue is full.  Children are especially being hit, they get a stomach ache, and a fever and their parents give them aspirin.  When they don’t get better, they take them to the doctor.  The aspirin masks the dengue, so their test comes back “no dengue”.  They go home thinking they don’t have it, and die.  It is so sad.

The dengue has now spread to Lima.  Folks who were in Iquitos and got dengue have traveled to Lima, with the disease, and mosquitos bite them there, and as a result  those mosquitos now carry the disease, and they spread it to others.  As a result, the government is considering closing off the city, not allowing anyone to come or go, by boat or plane, in an attempt to confine the dengue.

The government is not releasing any data on the situation here, they considered declaring a state of emergency for Iquitos, but decided against it.  Tourism is a big business here, and they were afraid if word got out as to how bad this actually is, it would seriously affect the economy.  They are going to be having another meeting this coming week, to once again consider closing off the city, and declaring a state of emergency.  We pray they have God’s wisdom and act on it.

Thank you to those of you who have sent money for the purchase of mosquito nets, and medicine.  We are working to help those who are sick, as well as prevent anyone else from getting sick.  If you haven’t had an opportunity to help through your finances, we would ask you to prayerfully consider doing so.  We need your help, the people here need your help.  You may send your tax deductible donation to:

Missions Update – Jerry and Connie Adams

Here’s an update from missionaries Jerry and Connie Adams in Peru. Please keep them in your prayers.

Greetings from the Jungle!

We have good news! We’ve launched the second phase of the Bible School! It is up and running, and the students have taken their first midterm exam and all have passed!
All of the ongoing classes are going well, and we’re excited to see the Word changing lives! In the village of Santa Tomas we have had 4 baptism services!

We’re working with ladies groups in two churches, and along with teaching the Word, we’re teaching them to make things with their hands. Our first project was making a purse. The ladies can sell these bags for 4 times what it costs in supplies to make. Some of our ladies are very quick with their hands, and they can make these purses in a couple of evenings. They are so excited to be able to do something in their homes that will produce an income to help with expense, while still caring for their families. Our next project is teaching them to embroider so they can decorate the purses, and sell them at a higher price.

We thought we might share a little of daily life with you to show you just how much your prayers mean to us. Jerry was trimming some trees that were growing into electrical lines on the front of the property, and came face to face with a 4 1/2 foot long iguana. It scared them both a little. He moved down a ways, and continued cutting the trees, and next encountered a long skinny object. He thought it was a rather large snake, but soon found out, it was Iggie’s tail! Surprise once again!

Our trip to the village of Santa Tomas every week takes about an 1 1/2 hours. We are able to go by jeep, as half of the road is dirt. When it rains, it is a mud slide. Some of these trips have been quite eventful! This week, as we were on the way home the jeep blew a tire! Praise God, we were more than 1/2 the way home before the tire blew.

We literally feel the prayers of the brothers on a daily basis. Conditions could have been so much worse! We see the hand of God protecting us daily. The iguana Jerry encountered was only inches from his face, and yet he wasn’t hurt. The dirt road to Santa Tomas is long and deserted, and Connie and Kaitlyn could have been in danger had they been stranded there after dark when the jeep tire blew. We Praise God for His protection daily, and we thank each of you who have so faithfully prayed for us! We truly appreciate your prayers!

We thank God for every opportunity He gives us to share the Word, and see lives changed. We thank each of you for your part in this ministry through your prayers and finances. Together we are making a difference, to God be the Glory!

If you’ve not had an opportunity to support his ministry with your finances in the past, we would like to invite you to be a part, we would certainly welcome your support. Together we can do more for Him! You may send our tax deductible donations to:
